Father-Son Campout

Jon took Friday off work and took the boys to our homeschool group's Father/Son Campout. This was the second year they went (see last year's post here) and once again they had a really great time. It was perfect weather. They had a new site to explore.

The boys' favorite part this year was the "great big dirt wall." They thoroughly enjoyed climbing up and sliding down again and again and again. (Wow! What a boy thing!) They also did tons of creeking.

A park ranger came and taught the boys about archery. This was a first for our guys. Jon got to try it too and even got some bullseyes.

They grilled out, had s'mores, and played baseball.

They visited a working farm that operates as it would have in the 1800's. These next two pictures are from the farm.

Our tent became the "Bey Blade Battle Zone."

Although Jon didn't get any pictures of it, they prayed the Rosary around the campfire.

When I met the boys at their soccer game the next morning, they were dirty and very tired, but thrilled with the experience. As for me, I had an amazing 24 hours to myself! I got a pedicure, had dinner with a friend, and did some shopping. It was a great break!

Many thanks to the dads who worked hard to plan the campout! We can't wait until the next one!
