Orange Belts!

Ray and Adam have graduated to ORANGE BELT in Karate!

Last Thursday evening they took a lengthy and rigorous test to demonstrate their skills.  I was so impressed by how focused they were and how many new skills they've learned. Their teacher was impressed too!

Some pictures from test day ---

At this evening's class they were officially awarded their orange belts.

Their names are noted at the top right in the picture above because they won one of four awards given out to all the testers. Their award is for "Most Improved." They got special recognition from the teacher as well as a prize.

We are very happy with the physical skills and mental discipline that the boys are learning in their karate lessons. They have an outstanding teacher, who was actually recently named Black Belt Magazine's Woman of the Year! (See article here - http://www.thisweeknews.com/content/stories/bexley/news/2012/10/02/woman-of-the-year.html).

Ray and Adam are proud to be orange belts, but they are mostly focused on advancing to the next level... green belt. Why? So they can get weapons! Yikes! I think we'll just enjoy being orange belts for as long as possible.
