Wet, Wild, Wonderful Weekend

This past weekend we enjoyed a wonderful trip to Great*Wolf*Lodge* in Mason, Ohio. Jon's very generous boss gave us this trip as a bonus after last tax season and we finally got to schedule it as a last hurrah before Jon gets super busy with this tax season. It was really great to have this special family time in such a fun place! Although it is very pricy, we highly recommend it. It's a beautiful place to stay with nice kid-friendly rooms and there is so much to do!

Check out these wolf tails! They came with the boys' meals at the lodge restaurant. They are posing in their very own "Wolf Den" ... the sectioned off part of our room that had their bunk bed and their own tv!





Adam's absolute favorite activity was walking across these "lily pads" in the water park. He was so proud of himself! He must have done this at least 20 times. The water park was really fun. We enjoyed the wave pool, the lazy river, and the water slides. (It was difficult to take many pictures because we were wet and on the go!)

Ray's (and Jon's) favorite activity was MagicQuest. He got a wand and went on adventures all around the lodge.  I think they had to solve puzzles, find clues, and fight dragons. They had a blast and I got to relax and read a book!

Every night at the lodge they have a storytime. Ray enjoyed watching from the fourth floor and figuring out how they made it "snow" down on all the kids at the end.

 On Saturday, we met up with my dad and Mary and some of their friends who live in Cincinnati. We had a great time at the Cincinnati Museum Center.  It's actually three museums housed together in a former train station. We definitely need to go back and spend more time there. There was so much to see, learn, and do!

 We are so thankful to have had this fun getaway. Now we're heading into tax season. The boys and I are buckling down for serious school. And I'm planning some home improvement projects around here. Bring on the snow!
