Bosco Boys Club - Year Two

As I was preparing for tomorrow's Bosco Boys Club meeting, I realized that I never blogged about last month's meeting (which was our first for this year).

The Bosco Boys Club is part of our homeschool group's "Terrific Tuesdays" program. One Tuesday a month, there are multiple "club" meetings that go on at the same time. We try to have a club for each age group so that entire families can participate.

The Bosco Boys Club is for boys in kindergarten through second grade. (The age range has narrowed a bit from last year.) At each meeting the boys play together, learn about a saint, and participate in activities to help them grow in a particular virtue.

At our September meeting the boys had lots of fun playing with Hot Wheels!

They learned about Saint John Bosco and the virtue of faith.

They listened to a story about Saint John Bosco's dream about a boat. They made their own boats.

Each boy received an awesome photo album in which he can put the holy cards for each month's saint and virtue. The holy cards and album cover have been designed by one of our very talented moms!

I know that the boys really look forward to these monthly Bosco Club meetings. It's a great way for them to socialize and make new friends AND learn ways to grow in holiness. This year we're blessed to have lots of new boys participating as well as new moms helping with the plans and leadership. Stay tuned for lots more about the Bosco Boys Club in coming months.

Saint John Bosco, patron saint of youth, pray for us.

I am starting some virtue programs at St. Agatha School and looking at different options for Girls and Boys Clubs. Do you sell the Bosco Boys Club materials so we can show it to our principal?
