We have continued to enjoy unseasonably warm spring (even summer-like) weather here in Central Ohio! It's been wonderful, but weird. Last week I switched all the clothes around already! Spring has definitely sprung early. It's been hard for Jon to be sitting in his office working so hard when it's so nice outside. Usually the weather doesn't really turn nice until tax season is wrapping up.
We enjoyed lots of Saint Patrick stories and activities last week. I buy Lucky Charms cereal for the boys ONCE a year. They used it for some graphing activities.... and devoured it! The marshmallows are looking quite different from when I was a kid.
Friday was a big day for the boys. They had their morning Catechesis of the Good Shepeherd / Montessori / CHAT classes. And then we went to a homeschool pool party. It was really fun!
After the pool party, we picked up Carter (my nephew) from school.... and the boys spent the night with him and my sister. It was their first "sleepover" (if you don't count Grandmas and Grandpas). They were so excited and they had a blast! Jon and I even got to go out on a little Friday night dinner date!
On Saturday we had a bit of Irish fun.
We had a visit from a leprechaun!
The leprechaun left a treasure hunt. Can you see the rainbow clue in this picture?
The boys followed the clues and found some bags with treasures from the leprechaun!
Our weekend ended with a BOOM... lots of them actually! Just before dinner the sky turned very dark and the tornado sirens sounded. We had a "basement picnic" as we waited out the storms. As you can see, one of the boys was quite upset about the storm. The other one couldn't even wait for prayers before digging into dinner. Fortunately, the worst of the storms missed us and we were able to go upstairs by bedtime.
It's hard to believe we're more than halfway through March. The school year... and tax season... are flying by! We're busy making summer plans and enjoying the warm weather too.
Yeah, Austin (especially) and Dylan freaked out when our sirens went off in Delaware County too. He had to get his "teddy" which is "so very special to me." Looks like you had a fun week and St. Patrick's Day!
